What is Autism?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disease typically diagnosed during childhood. ASD may change the way your child interacts and communicates. With an early diagnosis and early interventions, symptoms may lessen over time.

ABLE Kids provides the most effective, evidence-based therapy services for children with autism throughout Georgia and the Carolinas. We believe early intervention is most impactful when it comes to Autism. By providing a routine schedule with collaborative therapy, our therapists help ease the transition into elementary school and promote overall independence.

What to do When Your Child is Diagnosed with ASD

The number of resources that are available to parents of children recently diagnosed with ASD can be overwhelming and may take a tremendous amount of time to sort through. Finding the right guide for you and your family during the time can be taxing. ABLE Kids can help.

Our sole passion here at ABLE Kids is to provide your child or loved one the skills he/she needs to live a full and meaningful life. We have collected additional local autism resources for your family, including local autism testing centers, mentoring & development opportunities, sensory friendly programs and activities, and options for assistance in paying for ABA Therapy services near you. We have resources available throughout the southeast, including:

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of learning and human behavior. At ABLE Kids, a primary focus in our program is addressing the symptomology of Autism Spectrum Disorder; social, communication, and behavior skill domains. Services emphasize teaching the child to increase behaviors that are helpful and decrease behaviors that affect learning or harmful to the individual.

How Does ABA Therapy Work?

ABA Therapy programs are not “one size fits all.” It is a flexible treatment that can involve many techniques for understanding and changing behavior.

At ABLE Kids, children between infancy and the age of 6 are provided with an intensive, comprehensive ABA model that utilizes individualized instructional programing and naturalistic teaching within daily routines to establish, maintain, and increase a child’s active engagement with people and their surroundings.

Early intervention includes 1:1 teaching and training by highly motivated and trained staff to assist children who would benefit from an individualized, structured learning program.

Other Therapy Services at ABLE Kids
